Clear out the clutter

Many of us struggle to fit our clothes in the wardrobe. Why not bag up anything you no longer wear and take it to your nearest Salvation Army clothing collection bank or charity shop?

1,165,000 tonnes of clothing is thrown into landfill in the UK each year.

Donations

Our charity shops are always in need of good quality men’s and women’s clothes. We are also keen to receive clean linen, blankets and curtains as well as books, records, CDs, DVDs, videos, toys, bric a brac (ornaments, pictures etc). In addition we have two furniture stores in England, in Dudley and Bolton, and the biggest furniture charity store anywhere in Scotland on Dumbarton Road, Glasgow.

Our re:bag scheme

With the credit crunch forcing all of us to think about how and what we consume, Salvation Army Charity Shops are encouraging would-be recyclers to invest in a striking red, black and white re:bag, which is available from our stores at a cost of just 99p. If the bag is brought back to any of our shops full of clothing or household goods the owner is rewarded with a £2 voucher to spend in the shop. Anyone donating clothes this way can use the bag as often as they want and a new £2 voucher will be available each time.
